THE FIRST STEP

A Gentle Start to Therapy

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Whether this is your first time or you’ve been in therapy before, it’s completely normal to arrive with expectations or uncertainty about what it will be like.

My mission is to gently soften that experience by making therapy feel more accessible, transparent, and human. I aim to create a space where you feel informed, supported, and comfortable from the very beginning.

“All parts of you are welcome to exist in a body that feels safe enough to hold them.”

Meet Maisie

Hi, and welcome — I’m so glad you’re here!

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and hold a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa.

How I work

My approach is integrative and flexible, guided by what feels most supportive for you in our work together. In sessions, I bring warmth, presence, and authenticity, along with curiosity, transparency, and gentle humour when it feels helpful. Our work often includes reflection and psychoeducation to support deeper understanding. We make space for both insight and action—exploring the “why” behind your experiences while also building practical ways to support meaningful change.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, you're not alone. Ottawa-based psychotherapy offers professional, compassionate counselling for teens, individuals, and couples looking to improve their mental health and relationships.
